Lime Cay (Jamaica)
(Photo from Lime Cay!)
Civil wars have literally been fought and won since the last time Kingstonology made an original post. Beg your pardon, I don’t like to publish while sober. Happy end of summer and here’s to hoping it was one you never want your kids to find out about. In memory of Summer 2011…a beach post.
Contrary to the mental image of laid back islanders...

thenightsource asked: Wow, thanks for the compliment, means alot actually. About the prints, I had never really thought about it before seeing your message to be totally honest. I am trying out a print service now and you be able to purchase prints right from my blog... I have heard many good things about it. If you were serious about the prints; pick out something that appeals to you and tell me how it goes :) Thanks.
Britta Rae: hello, beautiful! →
brittaraee:
We’ve finally arrived in Hope Town, Jamaica and it’s absolutely beautiful here! We rented a little villa on the bay complete with a kitchen, three bedrooms and a little pool! It’s too late to really do anything on the water, and it was quite cloudy today, but everything is still incredible so…

Mountain River Cave (Jamaica)
Located in Cudjoe Hill, St. Catherine Jamaica. The photo below sums up anything I would have said,

Happy Birthday Bob (Bob Marley Museum)
GUEST BLOGGER: R. Davidson
Even though I’m Jamaican born and raised and I’ve heard every song ever released by the late great Robert Nesta Marley, I never took the time to pay a visit to the home/museum of this global legend. I would pass this place every day on my way to and from prep school, high school AND university, figuring that one day I would eventually venture into 56 Hope...

How to get as far away from the beach as possible...
I’ve been having the worst case of home sickness, otherwise known as ‘Whaa Guh a mi Yaad – itis’. Word of advice, social networking sites do nothing for this condition. You guys however get to reap the amazing fruits of my heart’s laboring ache. A friend of mine had an amazing weekend 3,500 feet above sea-level. This piece of heaven on earth is called Hollywell Recreational Park and is...

Kingston come to S. Florida (Buju Banton Concert)
As the title implies, this post is not Jamaican based however Buju Banton is an emperor so respect is due. No “Free Buju” t-shirts left in stock but Good Vibes and Conscious Lyrics were in ample supply. I am committed to loving the expensive jumbotron pictures and handicapped B-role video so be kind. I am glad the event was well supported, blessings and respect to Buju Banton and all the...

Country Come to Town (or any variation of that)
There I was scrolling through ‘Hulu’ movies, trying to find companionship for my insomnia and my eyes skim over something written in patois. Wah Do Dem is a movie about an American guy who goes through a series of unfortunate events that leaves him hitch hiking from Ocho Rios St. Ann to Kingston. It catapulted me into some serious serious nostalgia…when I say serious I mean...

Keeping Up in New Kingston
The past few, who knows how long, I’ve been feeling like the floor of a “chineie man” Downtown Kingston wholesale store (as if there is any other kind). But today I’ve been disgustingly sappy, walking around ogling and awing at stuff like kids singing and babies cooing.
(above picture ^ current location)
As a result of said ogling I am finally in the mood to throw up...

The Irie Contradiction
I wrestled with myself as to whether or not I should address the recent unrest that has erupted in my country. Do I want to give power to the people who refuse to see the big picture.
I decided I am not here to paint a deceptively pretty picture of my beloved Jamaica, but to try to be an accurate reflection for what it is, it’s beauty, flaws and all. I cannot believe the power that one...

Devon House
Its just about that time of year when everyone starts calling their mothers on a regular basis and scouring the internet to find pictures and videos of their home planets. There is just something about 26 Hope Road Kingston 10, The Devon House Courtyard, that pulls me back to the simplicity and lack of inhibitions of my childhood.
I will admit that I have to all but make love to my friends...

Jamaica (worst cruise excursion stop??)
I was having a chat with a friend of mine today and some how the conversation blew in the direction of travel destinations. Being a young twenty something American young man with, lets say, lots of resources, he travels quiet often. He told me that of all the places he has been to Jamaica was the worst :(
Needless to say him stab mi in ma ahhht(heart). As he began to speak of his experience...
